Notes on Access to Library Databases from Off Campus

Herkimer County Community College Users Only

Access to some library databases is restricted to Herkimer County Community College students, faculty and staff. This is due to licensing agreements with the vendors.

Only registered members (students, faculty and staff) of the Herkimer County Community College community may connect to library resources. Use by any others, for any purposes, is forbidden.

This is a two step procedure:

  1. 1) If you have not already done this, log into the campus system either on campus or through the campus webmail system; using the configuration below of your name and Social Security number. You will be required to change your password at that time.
  2. 2) Log in to the Library Databases page using your Username and the new Password you created in the Webmail process

Username

The first characters (up to a max of 7) are your last name

The next character is your first initial

The final 3 characters are the last 3 digits of your social security number

Password:

Your complete Social security number without dashes.

Fictitious examples:

Sarah Flanagan SS# 987-65-4321

username would be flanagas321

password would be 987654321

If you are faculty or staff, please use your campus username and password.
